About Association of Practitioners in Advertising (APA)

The Association of Practitioners in Advertising (APA) is mandated to enforce advertising standards through adherence to the code of advertising practice and direct marketing and also advocate for professionalism among its members. It also seeks to recognize the application of creative excellence in the way brands and businesses communicate.

About Loeries

The Loeries one of the world’s most prestigious companies championing creative expression has this year partnered with APA in these awards. It recognizes that creativity and innovation are vital business tools for communication within the brand communication industry of Africa and the Middle East. Their key mandate is to help marketers, agencies and consumers appreciate the value of ideas and fresh thinking and showcase the value that creativity adds to brands. The Loeries involvement will raise the awards’ profile as well as put Kenya’s creativity against other international campaigns.

Partnerships and Affiliations

  • Kenya Audience Research Foundation (KARF) KARF is mandated with the responsibility of providing the media industry with regular media audience data and the gold standard trading currency upon which media is valued and traded in Kenya.
  • Advertising Standards Committee (ASC) This is an independent initiative aimed at providing leadership in managing; General Rules in Advertising Practice that include moral issues; All media and communication channels; Guiding principles and recommend complaints procedures.
  • International School of Advertising (ISA) is the APA partner in providing training to its membership and other interested players in the Advertising and Media Industry ISA is the premier professional school in East Africa offering training in Brand Communications, Advertising, Public Relations and Brand Marketing.
  • The Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) is a limited liability membership organization an apex body of private sector in Kenya. KEPSA’s Strategic Focus is three fold: Conducting high-level advocacy on cross-cutting policy-related issues and ensuring Kenya is globally competitive in doing business; Coordinating private sector in Kenya through various mechanisms to engage in advocacy to promote economic growth; Developing and capacity building of business membership organizations (BMOs) to strengthen them to grow and represent their sectors adequately.
  • The International Advertising Association (IAA) was founded as a strategic partnership which champions the common interests of all the disciplines across the full spectrum of marketing communications - from advertisers to media companies to agencies to direct marketing firms - as well as individual practitioners across corporate, marketing services, organizational and academic sectors – all involved in the branding, communications and marketing disciplines
