The Association of Practitioners in Advertising (APA) is mandated to enforce advertising standards through adherence to the code of advertising practice and direct marketing and also advocate for professionalism among its members. It also seeks to recognize the application of creative excellence in the way brands and businesses communicate.
The Loeries one of the world’s most prestigious companies championing creative expression has this year partnered with APA in these awards. It recognizes that creativity and innovation are vital business tools for communication within the brand communication industry of Africa and the Middle East. Their key mandate is to help marketers, agencies and consumers appreciate the value of ideas and fresh thinking and showcase the value that creativity adds to brands. The Loeries involvement will raise the awards’ profile as well as put Kenya’s creativity against other international campaigns.
The Association of Practitioners in Advertising (APA) was registered in Kenya on the 31st October 1984 as a body representing Advertising Agencies in Kenya and other East African countries as a spokesperson and negotiator. More specifically the organisation was established to facilitate the member Agencies; in promoting the highest standards of effective advertising; in working with government and regulators in developing strong competitive mediaand free and responsible communication, backed by powerful self – regulation; in working with the Media on terms of business, recognition and research.
